Votive Spiral reflects on the double helix as both a scientific form and a cultural image. Referencing the discovery of DNA’s structure, the work considers how certain models in science exceed their technical function and take on an almost mythic force. The spiral becomes, here, a figure of devotion as much as description: a structure that organizes life, inheritance, and biological continuity, while also inviting projection, wonder, and belief. The sculpture does not present the helix as neutral information. Instead, it approaches it as a charged image suspended between laboratory model, sacred object, and speculative relic. Through this shift, Votive Spiral asks how scientific forms enter collective imagination and become part of a broader symbolic life.
