Parliament For Heliotechnics was a collaborative project headed by Alice Bucknell, and consisting of Carlo Udina, Cocompi, Anna Norelius, Juan Pablo Pacheco and myself. Comprising of a 10-minute film 'Earth Engine' and a limited-run screenprint, the project was initiated, researched and produced over a 3-week residency at OpenLab #03 at Medialab Matedero, Madrid. Exploring the speculative consequences of solar geoengineering, for the film we imagined a series of worlds in which climate modeling has led to a multi-scalar gamification of our carbon excess, from individuals to organizations to state-level actors, their widespread usage eventually exposing its inherent biases and the failures of data visualization and simulation in particular.
